The story
of "Gentleman" Jimmy Tippett - Professional
Lightweight boxer from Greenwich who started boxing at
the Bellingham amateur boxing club (and met up with Henry
Cooper) and became a professional in 1949. He fought at
the Manor Place Baths Walworth, The Empress Hall, Earls
Court, Royal Albert Hall, Wembly Town Hall, Shoreditch
Town Hall, Cardiff,and the Epsom Baths. He will always
be remembered for his sensational fight with Freddie King
at Camberwell on the 28th March 1955.
